Her core areas of interest and expertise are environmental harm, corporate crime and environmental governance. Past and ongoing studies have for instance focused on e-waste, timber trafficking, shipbreaking and coastal land loss. The difficult balance between economic, environmental and social considerations and between governmental, corporate and civil society governance is what continues to intrigue her and inspires her research. As a member of the multidisciplinary research team of Erasmus Initiative on Inclusive Prosperity, she aims to invest in gaining insights into the dynamics and drivers of environmental degradation and into the ways in which governments, businesses and civil society can cooperate to reach inclusive prosperity in environmental matters.
