Irma Cleven’s PhD topic is on victim experiences of penal protection orders. I focus on when and how protection orders contribute to victim protection from a victim perspective, possible unintended negative consequences and to what extent victim experiences correspond with the intended purpose as envisioned by legislators. I aim to provide insights into the limits and possibilities for penal protection orders to contribute to victim protection.
